The Power of Zoom: Transforming Government through Location Intelligence
Overview
For retailers and advertisers, “where” someone is located is perhaps more important than “who” someone is. The presence of location sensors in our smartphones, automobiles, and every tweet, transaction and interaction have created new opportunities to translate location data into insight about consumer behavior. The public sector has a similar opportunity to tap into the wealth of “location intelligence.” The Power of Zoom describes three ways agencies can implement location-intelligent programs: shaping smarter policy and better measuring outcomes with geospatial analytics, enabling place-based collaboration across government and with the crowd, and using location-aware technologies to support innovative models to interact with citizens and deploy services. Zoom represents an evolution in the way government interacts with the world – the map itself has been transformed from a static picture to a living platform for shared decision making and collaboration to solve our toughest challenges, at any scale.
